Telehealth for remote village and care operators – big subsidies

Starting this month medical specialists will receive a 50% Federal Government bonus plus a one off $6000 payment when they use video link consultations. The patient can be in a retirement village or aged care facility. A healthcare worker does not have to be present either. But if they are they can receive a 35% additional rebate (covering GP’s, nurse practioners and practice nurses). This is part of $620 million allocated to the telehealth initiative.
