Thailand targeting retirees

Australian retirees are being lured to Phuket Island in southern Thailand with special visas for foreigners who can prove they have retired with adequate monthly income. The Thai government also offers tax incentives to developers of retirement accommodation. A South Korean development is building a 150 condominium plus Marina project in Phuket specifically for the Australian retirement market, citing that living costs are a fraction of those back home.
