Gold Coast developer Trimglint is building a 22-level Over-55s retirement resort on the
same Southport strip as the 25-level Grande Pacific Broadwater retirement village. While not
technically a retirement village, the $85 million Sunrise Southport project will offer the same
facilities plus a cinema, licensed restaurant and beauty salon. With a Green Star eco rating,
it will stand out with its vertical turbine windmills, solar energy panels and underground
sources of water. The company paid $5.45 million for the Scarborough Street site.
