Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) CEO Greg Mundy supported calls for a
national electronic health record this week declaring it crucial to improving care for the
elderly. Mr. Mundy said the previous government invested a lot of money in providing GPs
with computers, but investment in aged care lagged far behind. The Department of Health
and Ageing responded by stating a national electronic health record would be discussed at
the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) and National Health Minister meetings next
month.
