Local residents and councillors have aired their objections about the plans to convert the heritage Park Orchards Chalet into 91-bed nursing home at a hearing of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). As anyone in the aged care industry will understand, heritage buildings arent the best fit for a facility. Manningham Council rejected Park Orchards Aged Services Property application in December but they lodged an appeal.
Australian Senate votes for two separate inquiries into aged care reform
The Senate has voted to establish two new Senate inquiries into the Government’s historic aged care reforms, rollout out on the weekend after years of preparation, amid concerns they will not deliver for older Australians.
