A sleeping 92 year old resident of Springvales Lexington Gardens (Melbourne) died instantly in her bed when an out of control car smashed through the perimeter fence and into the bedroom wall of her ILU. The accident occurred at 4am on 12 May but has just been to court. The driver, who has serious brain injury from a previous crash in 1968, had a blood alcohol reading of 0.174.
No excuse for providers to not be ready on 1 November: Aged Care Minister Sam Rae
Aged Care Minister Sam Rae has told ABC radio the Aged Care Rules have been in place for “a significant amount of time” and the Government has been listening to and supporting to the sector, “so, there really isn’t an excuse from any provider to not be prepared for 1 November”.
