Thats exactly what happened to Mary Cotton (99) who was woken by a nurse attempting to steal her wedding rings.
Ms Cotton, who is blind, yelled at the woman. She simply replied, Its got to come off.
A police summary described how Ms Cotton attempted to push off her attacker and bite her hand. Unfortunately she bit her own instead.
The Moorabbin Magistrates Court was told that Debra Ann Gonzales stole the rings as collateral for a $52.50 Cash Convertors loan.
Police recovered the rings. Gonzales was jailed for 15 months.
