Two Dept. Of Health and Ageing nurses have gone to the media claiming extensive rorting of aged care funding, centering on ACFI fee upgrades. ABC radio and TV then interviewed ACFI consultants Wellness and Lifestyle about their web site statement on how to claim $315,000 in government funding for pain management when only $50,000 needs to be spent on the resident. Wellness and Lifestyles fee is 10% of the extra income achieved. It was excessive claims that Minister Butler slated blame for the reduction in funds allocated to residential care in the May pre Budget reforms.
