With more than a third of Queenslanders now aged 50 or older, AVID’s Vantage land lease division is accelerating its pipeline, with two new communities set to deliver 672 homes.

Ceremonies have been held to mark the start of development at Vantage Logan Village Green – formerly Amber by Living Gems – and Vantage Lilywood at Waraba. The projects will join nine existing Vantage land lease communities in Queensland and Victoria, with a further five communities in planning.

“Our two newest Vantage communities will join the already significant and growing portfolio of boutique Over 50s neighbourhoods offering resort-style living with modern and flexible housing solutions to the growing over-50s buyers’ market in Australia,” AVID General Manager Queensland and Land Lease Communities, Anthony Demiris (pictured below), said.

At the sod-turning event for Vantage Lilywood, City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery described the community as another milestone in the story of Waraba.

“With our population projected to reach one million people in the next 30 years, and more than 240 new residents moving here every week, the City of Moreton Bay is entering an exciting era of growth and transformation,” he said.

“Waraba will play an important role in our City’s future by becoming a dynamic urban hub that will eventually accommodate some 70,000 residents. Ensuring greater housing diversity gives our residents access to homes that suit their needs across every stage of life, and this new development provides yet another choice at Waraba.”

Vantage Lilywood will join a growing cluster of land lease and seniors’ housing options in the City of Moreton Bay, including land lease communities GemLife Moreton Bay, Stockland Halcyon Promenade and Thyme Lifestyle Resort Moreton Bay, plus 36 retirement villages listed on villages.com.au.

The Weekly SOURCE reported in September that Living Gems had also begun civil works on a separate 186-home $140 million lifestyle resort in the region.
