Brisbane retirement village operator secures John Flynn Hospital land (QLD) for $6.6 million

Developer Philip Usher has bought the nearly 1.5-hectare site in Tugun (26 kilometres south of the Gold Coast) from Filipino businessman Philip Cea.

Mr Usher is the owner of Seasons Private Aged Care, which has six villages across south-east Queensland. He is also a commercial residential developer with an interest in towers – having built twin high rises in Southport (the H20 Broadwater Apartments), with a third on the way.

While Usher’s plans for the Tugun hospital site have not been finalised, the land was marketed as suitable for townhouses or a retirement village.

Mr Cea has been attempting to sell the land since 2007.
