Broadlands appeals NSW South Coast land lease rejection

NSW land lease operator Broadlands will appeal to the Land and Environment Court after Eurobodalla Shire Council rejected its development application (DA) in May. Consultants Urbis told a public meeting that a revised plan is now on exhibition as part of the process. The meeting formed part of a social impact assessment by Urbis, which may be used in the appeal. The proposal was first presented to council officers in February 2023, with the DA lodged in March 2024.

Victorian land lease community operator Lifestyle Communities, which is appealing a tribunal ruling that struck out its Deferred Management Fee (DMF) clause, has pushed back the release of its FY25 financial results. The Sydney North Planning Panel has unanimously approved the $77 million redevelopment of the registered Club built in 1959 in Forestville, 12km north of Sydney’s CBD. Northern Beaches Council recommended the development application to the Panel for approval, covering the construction of a single-level new Club and Garraway – a boutique retirement village with 52 independent living apartments.

Older women targeted for affordable housing plan in Melbourne’s southeast

Community Housing Ltd has proposed a 13-storey apartment tower in Dandenong, 29km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, offering 86 homes for vulnerable groups. The application, prepared by Squareback Planning and designed by Cera Stribley, for a Ministerial Permit states the proposed development would target older women experiencing homelessness, veterans at risk of homelessness, victims of family and domestic violence, and frontline workers employed locally.
