Catholic Healthcare opens its first home with a household model
The 102-bed Holy Cross Kincumber on the NSW Central Coast is the faith-based Not For Profit’s 41st residential aged care home.
The site is also Catholic Healthcare’s first purpose-built home to feature the household model. Each of the six households include 17 bedrooms, shared dining and lounge areas, and a household kitchen.

“This model fosters relationships and collaboration among residents, team
members, and loved ones, creating a true sense of belonging and community,” said the Sydney-based operator.
A central hub provides shared community facilities, including a café and function room for resident activities and events. Holy Cross Kincumber also includes a hair salon, gym and chapel, along with a village bus used for organised day trips and outings.
“Holy Cross Kincumber empowers older Australians with greater choice and control over their care, enabling residents to live well and age well,” Catholic Healthcare CEO Josh McFarlane said.
“Through holistic, relationship-based support, residents choose the way they live. We look forward to welcoming more residents in the coming months and to setting a new standard for aged care in the region.”
