Units built in 12 weeks as $28M extension of land lease community awaits decision
A 2.34 hectare site is set to to become Stage 4 of an existing land lease community in Perth, Western Australia.
68 homes are being proposed the site next to the family-owned Champion Lakes Lifestyle Village, in Champion Lakes, in the City of Armadale, which will be fully integrated with the existing stages, which comprise:
- 65 units built in Stage 1 built after development approval in 2017, followed by minor amendments throughout 2019, 2020 and 2023;
- Development approval for a further 68 units in Stage 2 was granted in 2021, with an amendment approved in 2022; and
- 78 homes represent Stage 3, which was approved in 2022 and is almost complete.

The new development application, which is currently before the Western Australian Planning Commission, will act as an extension to the previously approved three stages.
“The addition of an extra stage will provide for people looking to downsize within a secure and safe community,” stated Harley Dykstra, a land development consultancy firm of Surveyors and Town Planning Consultants.
“It has been recognised that this is a much-needed facility as proven by the take-up rate of the existing village. Additionally, the landowner is able to turn around a single unit within 12 weeks (post slab pour), ensuring the timely delivery of housing.”
