We met this week with Australias leading retirement village operator, Chas Jacobsen, to discuss his presentation at the LEADERS SUMMIT (19-20 March in Sydney). He told us that the whole world has changed since his presentation at last years SUMMIT. The residents buying the 60 units this year in his The Village Glen village have changed, the services and value proposition he has to offer has changed, and the financial contract has as a result had to change.
Chas believes every operator has to totally reviewed their business. He is employing a new class of village staff and revisiting budgets and fortnightly fees, for instance.
