Matthew Chun and Steve Leckie launch second boutique village: Moorabbin

1 min read

Melbourne property and retirement village veteran Matthew Chun has teamed up again with Steve Leckie, announcing their next project, The Healey.

Consisting of 55 apartments across five levels, it will be located halfway between Moorabbin station and the $15 million redevelopment of St Kilda Football Club’s home.

Chun tells us that they are not building extensive community facilities, expecting residents to utilise the local retail and entertainment strip plus the new club facilities.

The generous one-bedroom unit start at $500,000 and go up to three bedrooms at $800,000 to $1 million. The median price is $1.2 million in the neighbourhood.

They will offer two DMF contracts – an ingoing contribution or participate in the capital gain with DMF.

As the ex-CEO of Becton, Chun oversaw the development of the first prestige villages in Melbourne in the early 2000’s.

Four years ago he and Leckie stepped in and rescued The Woniora from Suncorp in Sydney’s prestige suburb Wahroonga. It has been fully occupied with a waiting list ever since.

They are calling their retirement vehicle Springwood Living Group, with the intention of moving forward one village at a time.
