Community invited to view redevelopment of NSW aged care hub
The Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) Program, which provides integrated health and aged care services to regional, rural and remote communities, is expanding its reach in NSW.
Located in Blayney in the NSW Central West, about 240km west of Sydney, the MPS is the final project under the NSW Government’s $297 million expansion of the Multipurpose Service Program. The facility first opened in 2003.
Stage 1 of the redevelopment includes a new residential aged care wing featuring single rooms with private bathrooms, additional inpatient unit beds, chair-based services, with space for future expansion.
The Blayney community has been invited to tour and explore the new facilities and services on Thursday, 22 January 2026 between 4pm and 6pm.
Taylor Construction Group and health staff will be on hand to answer questions, and no registrations are required.

The redevelopment is being built on the existing Osman St site in stages to ensure all clinical services continue to operate during construction.
The second phase of works is now due to begin, including demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a new HealthOne – which brings Commonwealth-funded general practice and State-funded primary and community health care services on one site – as well as a new entry, reception, waiting room, staff area and ambulatory care zone. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.
NSW has 66 MPS across eight local health districts: Murrumbidgee, Far West, Western NSW, Hunter New England, Northern NSW, Southern NSW, Mid North Coast and Nepean Blue Mountains.
