New village entrant turns sod on first site in Melbourne, 11 months after launch

"Our vision is simple, to build a place where senior Australians feel valued, supported and inspired," said Orion International Group Director, Myles Qin, at the sod turning ceremony.

Dux Churchill, designed by VIA Architects and Studio Tate, is located in the suburb of Ringwood, 25km east of Melbourne's CBD. The retirement village is property developer Orion's first high-end venture into the retirement living space. The village will have 57 two- and three-bedroom apartments, priced from $739,000 to $1.579 million.

Rob Macpherson, One Fell Swoop Retirement Living National Sales Director, told The Weekly SOURCE that the village had achieved its pre-sales target.

"We’ve seen strong interest at both the top end and entry-level price points. Ringwood continues to thrive as one of Melbourne’s designated activity centres, and there’s a lot happening in the area that will bring vibrancy and opportunity for our future residents," Rob said.

Dux Churchill, being constructed by Maben Group, is being marketed, sold and operated by One Fell Swoop. Construction is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2026.
