Construction restarts at Uniting Yamba on NSW’s Far North Coast with new builder appointed

1 min read

The Not For Profit has appointed Stephen Edwards Construction to complete the 50 remaining independent living apartments.

Work came to a halt in June last year when GCB Constructions went into administration.

The 50 apartments at Uniting Yamba, which is now due for completion in Spring 2025, will include a range of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments as part of the retirement and independent living community, which also features 34 completed villas. 15% have been allocated for social housing.

Uniting Yamba will provide a variety of care options on site and different home and living styles to cater to local seniors, including villas and apartments with Assisted Living services. There is also an 86-bed residential aged care home onsite.

Uniting has worked with Stephen Edwards Constructions on several other Uniting projects.

The Clarence Valley Regional Economic Development Strategy – 2023 Update recently revealed the region’s population aged over 55 was 13.3% higher than the NSW average, with strong population growth in the region tightening housing supply and placing upward pressure on prices.
