DCM Institute members named State Village Managers of Year
Two members of the retirement living sector’s largest professional development program have been named State Village Manager of the Year.
Tarmar Christensen, Village Manager of RetireAustralia’s The Verge at Burleigh Retirement Village, on the Gold Coast, was announced as Queensland Village Manager of the Year by the Retirement Living Council (RLC).
Alison Brockett, Village Manager of Masonic Care WA Forest Lakes in Thornlie, southeast of Perth city centre, was named Western Australian Village Manager of the Year.
Both Tarmar and Alison are part of DCM Institute, which was established by the DCM Group in 2019, and enhances the professionalism of retirement village managers through expert-designed programs.
The other State Village Managers of the Year were:
- NSW/ACT: Michelle Bennett, General Manager at LDK Seniors’ Living’s Greenway Views in Greenway, Canberra;

- South Australia/Northern Territory: Daniel Kunzel, Senior Village Manager at Levande Unity Community in Aberfoyle Park; and Levande Walnut Grove Estate, Old Reynella, both south of Adelaide city centre.
- Victoria/Tasmania: John Smirk, Applewood Retirement Village in Doncaster, 15km east of Melbourne’s CBD.
The State Salespersons of the Year were:
- NSW/ACT: Ivonne Evans, Aveo Lindfield Gardens, 13km northeast of Sydney’s CBD;

- Queensland: Michele Stevens, Keyton Hibiscus Noosa Outlook in Tewantin and Sunrise Beach Village, Sunshine Coast;
- Victoria/Tasmania: Danae Konstantakopoulos, Levande Templestone and Levande Donvale;
- Western Australia: Jo McPhilimey, St Ives Retirement Living, in Perth.
- South Australia/Northern Territory: Katherine Clark, Keyton Townsend Park, Hove, and Vermont Estate, South Plympton, Adelaide.
The National Awards will be decided at the RLC’s National Retirement Living Summit 2026 in June.
