The family owned aged care operator's newest home, Sorrento, located in the coastal city of Cleveland, 25km north of Brisbane, is preparing to welcome its first residents in the five-story development.
Vacenti Marketing Manager Brad Sandilands told The Weekly Source, early interest in the home has been "overwhelming" due to the the "extreme" need for aged care beds in the community.
Approximately 40 beds of the home's 151 occupancy could be filled soon after opening due to demand, Brad said. Though the home could be filled within six months, it will open more slowly to allow for staff recruitment, he added.
Sorrento has 28 double rooms, and features a rooftop garden, private lounges, balconies and landscaped gardens. A cafe and shops are located on the ground floor. Every room has a private ensuite and kitchenette.
The owner-builder has another two homes planned, to be opened in the "next couple of years".
With the final preparations underway, CEO Julian Casagrande (pictured left) and Brad (right) had the opportunity to walk through the building.
The 6,724sqm site was first purchased by Vacenti after Redland City Council transferred the land to the Redland Investment Corporation in 2015 to help revitalise the town’s CBD. The aged care home was first proposed in 2018.
