Allam Property eyes second NSW land lease community in Tuncurry

Allam Property is preparing plans for its second land lease community on the NSW Mid North Coast, with a 283-home lifestyle village proposed for Tuncurry.

The well-known residential estate developer – which launched its first land lease community, Monterey at Camden Haven in Kendall, 30km from Port Macquarie, in 2021 – has lodged a new application with Mid Coast Council.

The 283-lot project would be built on a 22.4-hectare site in Tuncurry, around 307km north-northeast of Sydney’s CBD. Plans include small-scale sites ranging from 284sqm to 321sqm, alongside a community centre and shared amenities.

From appeal to expansion

The proposal builds on Allam’s earlier involvement with the site. The group originally sought to develop 88 manufactured home lots on part of the land. That application was refused by Mid Coast Council before Allam appealed in the Land and Environment Court. A revised DA was subsequently approved on 6 August 2024 as part of the Court process.

The new development application covers both the previously approved site and the second adjoining lot, significantly expanding the vision for the precinct.

A legacy of growth

Founded in 1991 by the late Barney Allam OAM — who passed away in August 2024 — Allam Property has grown from a contract housing builder into a major developer of residential estates across the NSW Central Coast, Hunter Valley and South Coast.

The Tuncurry project would mark its second foray into the land lease sector, joining a cluster of existing seniors housing and lifestyle communities in the area, including Sunrise Supported Living Tuncurry which was recently acquired by BaptistCare.
