Christian Homes Tasmania lodges plans for Kingston ILUs

1 min read

Christian Homes Tasmania has lodged plans for a new retirement village in Kingston, with Circa Morris-Nunn Chua Architects submitting a development application for 44 two-bedroom independent living units on a 2.85ha site. The units, each 120sqm, would be delivered in 22 duplexes across three different designs.

To the east of the site, 12km south of Hobart, the Not For Profit already has approval for a new residential aged care home and assisted living facilities. The proposed village would allow residents to transition seamlessly to higher levels of care as their needs change.

The plans by Circa Morris-Nunn Chua Architects also include a 120sqm community hub with a shared lounge, residential-scale kitchen, indoor and outdoor seating areas, and a library/reading room.

Public submissions close on September 26, with Kingborough Council to decide the application following consultation.
