Construction on Victoria Government’s $140M aged care home ‘tops out’

1 min read

Construction of the public, four-storey, 150-bed aged care home in Cheltenham, 18km southeast of the Melbourne city centre, has reached its highest point, with the facility expected to be completed in 2025.

The aged care home will form part of the existing Monash Health Kingston Centre, a community-focused health and wellbeing centre for older Victorians, and replaces the former AG Eastwood aged care facility.

It will cost the Victorian Government $139.6 million and will feature single rooms with ensuites that are grouped into small households to create a home-like environment. It will contain a community room, reflection space, and other common areas.

Residents will have access to range of integrated aged care services such as dementia care and clinics for falls and balance.
