LEADERS SUMMIT 2024: Calvary and Ozcare are proof the integrated living model is working

1 min read

The success of the vertical retirement villages Rendu Towers in Newstead, 3.3 km northeast of Brisbane’s GPO, and Calvary Kooyong, in Caulfield South, 10km south of Melbourne’s CBD, were clear to everyone attending the breakout session at LEADERS SUMMIT in Sydney on Tuesday afternoon.

Anna told host James Wilshire, DCM Institute Executive Director, that Rendu Towers is its first vertical retirement village.

"Our model is co-location, and Rendu Towers is co-located with an aged care home, and that's always been the driver for our retirement living division. The average age we have in Rendu Towers is about 77, so quite a young cohort of people,” Anna said.

She added that the success of Rendu Towers – the first tower sold out and over 50% of the residences in the South Tower was sold before the first residents move in this month – led them to plan a six story stage at its Reflections on the Bay retirement village in Kawungan, next to Ozcare Hervey Bay Aged Care Facility.

Mark Eagleston said: "The continuum of care model is in our Calvary DNA. We've got 14 of our 18 retirement villages co-located. We partnered with One Fell Swoop to do the sales and marketing on Kooyong and it's marketed as a community.”

The building is just 12 months old.

"The average age is about 81, which is a bit older than what our normal cohort is across our other villages. It's a different market, though. We've got a much wealthier market - we're selling units for up to $3 million."
