Nagambie Lifestyle Park expands into over 55s land lease homes

The town, between Seymour and Shepparton, over 100km north of Melbourne, is known as the Jewel of Victoria, due to the picturesque Lake Nagambie, the Strathbogie Ranges and its wine. It also is the birthplace of champion racehorse Black Caviar.

Nagambie Caravan Park has morphed into Nagambie Lifestyle Park since being bought by private fund manager Equinox. Manager Lea Roberts said it is building over 100 new homes for over 55s under the land lease model: no stamp duty, and no entry or exit fees. The inaugural open days are on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, October 20, when display homes will be open, with prices starting from $199,000.

25 homes have been sold in Stage One, with another six agreed. The weekly fee is $150.

"We have people who have bought a house and said there will be back next year as they wanted to going travelling and return to have a roof over their head," she said.

Equinox's website lists five land lease communities. The Weekly SOURCE reported in January 2024 it had put two Victorian land leasre communities for sale via CBRE.
