Winarch Capital’s land lease resort near Airlie Beach, QLD Whitsundays, approved

Whitsunday Regional Council on 14 February 2024 approved a plan by the Newcastle NSW property development business founded by Paul Lambess to turn bushland into 230 multi-unit dwellings, with a community centre, gym and a swimming pool.

The 46ha site at Jubilee Pocket, with a population density of 2.047, is located within a low-density residential zone, with a caravan park to the north and Conway National Park to the east.

“The Retirement Facility will be constructed in accordance with the Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Act 2003 and will have ancillary amenity facilities, including recreational areas, open space, and a community centre,” said an application document.

“These communal areas will be used exclusively for residents of the retirement facility.”

The development will be split into nine stages, with council infrastructure charges to total $12.8 million by the project’s completion.

Residential building expanding on the existing locality was included in the approval.
