Uncertainty surrounds aged care property developer Pesdev Group’s “landmark” 108-bed Gympie aged care home, which was granted development approval in February 2021.
The site for the proposed aged care home is on four blocks of land between King Street and Duke Streets next to Gympie Hospital.
However, the land and the development proposal were put up for sale in August 2021, but drew no interest.
Colliers International manager Baydn Dodds, who was marketing the site, told The Courier Mail the land is no longer for sale through Colliers.
Pesdev Group’s 93-bed centre at Beerwah, on the Sunshine Coast, was also put up for sale in 2021, and was sold in October 2021.
Pesdev Group’s website lists eight other aged care centres in its portfolio, on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane. Five are sold out, two are ‘coming soon’, and one is under construction.
The Gympie proposal is still listed on Pesdev Group’s website as ‘complete and ready to build on’.
The SOURCE contacted Pesdev Group for comment but at the time of publishing had not received a reply.
