Land lease newcomer MHE Development secures approval for 323-home estate in Tocumwal, NSW

A 21-hectare land lease community in the Murray River town of Tocumwal has been approved by Berrigan Shire Council in southern NSW, 270km north of Melbourne.

Approved on 16 July, the application allows for a 29-lot subdivision and 323 dwellings – a development that, once complete, will boost Tocumwal’s population by nearly 10%. Plans also include internal roads, recreation areas and communal facilities.

MHE Development Group stated: "Tocumwal is a highly desirable destination on the Victoria and New South Wales border, known for its exceptional climate, fishing, golf, watersports and stunning red gum forests. Located on the mighty Murray River and adjacent to Club Tocumwal, a 36 hole golf resort with direct cart access to the Village via designated paths.

"Residents of the village will receive two Village Club Memberships and access to state-of-the-art sporting and leisure facilities of which the Club is currently undergoing an $8 million dollar renovation and expansion. This planned village will incorporate 319 contemporary homes on verdant tree-lined avenues with pockets of open parkland. The modern, central Community Building will house communal state-of-the-art leisure facilities."

Club Tocumwal Chief Executive Paul Gemmill revealed in January this year that the Club had partnered with MHE to develop land bordering its Presidents golf course into a mix of residential lots and Over-55s lifestyle living.
