Serenitas is moving ahead with its plans for a new land lease community in the coastal town, located around 308km north of Sydney, more than three years after first securing development approval.
Approval was originally granted in May 2022 for a 161-home project. Now, Accuplan, on behalf of Serenitas Development Trust II, has lodged a Modification of Development Consent, which has been placed on exhibition.
The approval predates the sale of Serenitas in October 2023 to private equity group Pacific Equity Partners and ASX-listed developer Mirvac, with original owner Tasman Partners retaining a minority stake.
When complete, the project will be known as Thyme Lifestyle Resort Forster, joining a growing cluster of land lease communities in the town, including Palm Lake Resort Forster Lakes, Hampshire Villages' Lakeside Forster Village, Levande Golden Ponds, and Evermore Retirement Living.
Serenitas and Mirvac referenced the development in Mirvac's FY25 Result, listing it as “under development.” A dedicated website for Thyme Lifestyle Resort Forster (pictured below) is already live, positioning the project within the operator’s expanding Thyme portfolio.
