Stewart Scott (pictured below), Summerset Group’s General Manager Development Australia, said he expects to its first villas built at Cranbourne North, 39km south-east of Melbourne’s CBD, by the end of the year, after revealing the sales office is now on site.

Summerset Group, the second largest retirement living operator in New Zealand, will make a statement in Australia. It has 39 retirement villages either complete or under construction and five land sites in New Zealand and six development sites in Victoria, Australia.

“Everything is looking good at Cranbourne, the construction is going really well and our first tranche of villas will be ready by the end of the year,” Stewart said.

“That hopefully will be the kickstart and we will continue to rollout the villas out over the next bunch of years.

“Also, we are going to develop that pipeline.”

Summerset has approval to build a village in Chirnside Park, 38km northeast of Melbourne’s CBD, and has a total of seven sites.

Summerset’s pipeline will build more than 2,140 units for around 2,500 residents.
