Flinders University and the ABS found 49% of aged peoples falls occurred in the [dangerous] family home. Not surprisingly it was six times more likely to have a fall and aged care facility. All up 83,800 people attended hospital due to falls, an increase of 5,100 over the previous year. On average they required 15.5 days hospitalization which equates to 1,299,000 days in hospital.
