For Purpose Aged Care Australia CEO steps down

Fabio Maya said his four years with Signature Care and nearly two with For Purpose Aged Care Australia (FPACA) had been an "extraordinary journey".

"Under the leadership and vision of Graeme, Stephen (Pollock), Amal (Witnish) and Ramsay (Croft) at Croft Developments/Signature Care, we achieved something truly special - 12 magnificent aged care homes opened across four states and the first four opened during Covid," Fabio said.

"It’s also been a privilege to support the transition into FPACA."

When Not For Profit FPACA acquired Signature Care in April 2024, Fabio stayed on as CEO and Matthew Filocamo was appointed Group CEO.

Matthew, who had formerly been Director of Operations at RSL LifeCare and Calvary Health Care, was tasked with unifying Signature Care with Luson Aged Care, which FPACA had acquired the year prior. FPACA is owned by Not For Profit social impact investment fund For Purpose Investment Partners, which gained the backing of QANTAS Super and Australian Ethical Investment to complete the Signature Care acquisition.

Fabio received dozens of heartfelt responses to his LinkedIn announcement of his departure. Aged Care Residence Manager Cyndi Li wrote, "It feels impossible to put into words what the last 10 years under your leadership have meant to me. I’ve had the privilege of working with you for two-thirds of my career — years that shaped not only the professional I am today, but also the person I’ve become.

"Your leadership went far beyond titles and roles. You led with integrity, courage, and an unwavering belief in people, and that left a lasting imprint on all of us who had the honour of working alongside you. Thank you for an inspiring leader, and someone I will always consider my 'forever best CEO'."
