Our new Prime Minister should give our sector reason for hope. Her parents are residents of an Adelaide retirement village and her mother worked in a Salvos aged care facility and a father was as a psychiatrics nurse. The Prime minister was also shadow health Minister in opposition, facing off against the then Governments Health Minister, Mr Abbott.
Ms Gillard is doing what the power brokers who helped get her there, wanted her to do; she is bringing the political sunshine back. According to yesterdays Newspoll survey, Labor's primary vote went from 35% the weekend before Mr Rudd was removed to 42% three days after and todays polls show an increased majority over the Liberals in mining constituencies.
