Google tests Nest Hub Max in US retirement homes

1 min read

Taking a leaf out of Australia’s eevi product offering, Google is simplifying its Google Home for aged care homes and retirement villages.

Nest is their in-home automation system and this month they commenced trialling Nest Hub Max in US villages.

Google is testing a pre-loaded shortlist of contacts, to make video calls easier. There are new “What can you do?” cards, that act like shortcuts for showing weather reports, setting alarms or playing relaxing sounds.

Test recipients will also get their devices preloaded with contacts for video calls – likely the primary use, as homes across the country institute social distancing.

Interestingly eevi has been leading this initiative with villages in Australia for three years or more. Check them out HERE.
