Third Sector Australia Limited, trading as Momentum Collective, has entered voluntary administration, putting the future of 5,000 clients – including 674 receiving Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services – under a cloud. FTI Consulting was appointed administrator on 16 October 2025.
In a letter to staff, the administrators said services will continue on a business-as-usual basis while they urgently review options for a sale of operations and/or an orderly transition of participants and services to new providers.
FTI Consulting partner and voluntary administrator John Park said Momentum Collective delivers critical services in regional Northern NSW “where there are not a lot of options for these types of services.”
The financial reversal has been swift. Momentum Collective reported an operating surplus of $2.3 million in 2022-23, turning into an operating loss exceeding $4 million in 2023-24.
The administrators said further details will be announced as the review progresses.
Momentum Collective operates across disability, mental health, community housing, family support and CHSP services in the Northern Rivers and surrounding regions.
The development follows the August liquidation of Annecto, a disability and home care support provider with more than 3,000 clients across ACT, NSW, Victoria and Queensland, whose customers were directed to alternative providers.
For CHSP (and disability and community housing) clients in regional areas, any transition will hinge on the availability of replacement providers and the capacity of local services to absorb new recipients without interruption to support services.
