Electric blanket fire causes $200,000 village home damage

Maintaining the rate of at least one house fire every two months in a retirement village, a faulty electric blanket caused a fire in South Australia. It occurred at midnight with the female resident escaping unharmed.

All the homes in the village have smoke alarms hard wired.
