IHACPA confirms timeline for aged care funding prices

1 min read

The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) has provided some insights into when aged care providers can expect to know the recommended pricing for the next financial year in its Work Program and Corporate Plan 2024-25.

IHACPA will publish its 2025-26 final pricing for residential aged care in August 2025, according to the 37-page document.

Cost data collection, which uses data from the Aged Care Financial Report and Quarterly Financial Reports and additional costing studies and forms the foundation of AN-ACC pricing, will occur between December 2024 and June 2025.

IHACPA will also provide pricing advice for Support at Home, which comes into effect on 1 July 2025.

However, the timeframe's for IHACPA's public consultation and development of pricing advice are "yet to be confirmed", according to the report.

Last month, we reported that Ernst & Young had conducted a Costing Study for Support at Home, finding the median home care price for nursing care was $101 per hour and for personal care was $82 per hour
