West Australian Government provide more homes for over-65s in Donnybrook

1 min read

10 affordable independent units have been built for people aged over 65 in the state’s southwest.

The Bridge Street Housing Project, boosted by $2 million from the WA Government, is close to the town centre of Donnybrook, 210km southwest of Perth, with its aim to allow tenants to age-in-place, remain close to services and amenities, and maintain connections to family, friends and support networks.

“This project offers the opportunity for continued economic benefits to the town based on the development of fit-for-purpose, affordable, independent aged housing. Importantly, this project increases housing stock in regional communities,” said Jodie Hanns, the Collie-Preston MP.

The project was delivered by Alliance Housing with land from the Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup.
