Green light for $200M land lease development in QLD
Lincoln Lifestyle Mackay has been given the green light to start construction

Land lease community operator Lincoln Place has secured planning approval for the largest over-55s community in the Mackay region in more than a decade.

The $200 million Lincoln Lifestyle Mackay estate will be delivered on a 16.45-hectare site in Walkerston, 10km west of the Mackay CBD.

Lincoln Place Chief Executive Officer, Paul Yeo, thanked Mackay Regional Council for supporting the proposal, which he says will deliver more housing choice for the region, close to established services.

“Our long-term investment in the region will deliver 325 single-level two- and three-bedroom homes designed for Over 50s living, alongside one of the largest leisure precincts in our portfolio,” said Paul.
“The multi-million-dollar Clubhouse and Wellness Centre precinct spans 8,800sqm and includes pickleball and bocce courts, a bowling green, and lagoon pool with an outdoor bar and kitchen, and barbecue areas.
“The precinct also features an additional lap pool, gym, yoga studio, art studio, private cinema, golf simulator, games room, lounge and library, as well as a large kitchen and private dining room for events.”

In a first for Lincoln Place, backed by the New York-based private equity giant Cerberus Capital Management, the Mackay community also includes a children’s playground. There also will be a 2,400sqm community garden area, extensive pedestrian networks and RV and boat storage.

Single-level housing will feature only in Lincoln Lifestyle Mackay

“With planning approval now in place, we expect to commence construction within 12 months and welcome the first residents to their new homes in 2027,” Paul added.
