Regis’ $339M Rockpool deal shows why acquisitions outpace builds

When Regis Aged Care agreed to acquire four Rockpool aged care homes for a gross price of $339 million, the deal turned heads across the sector. At $565,000 per bed, it underlined just how scarce premium facilities have become – and why the acquisition market is red-hot while new developments lag.

For Rockpool CEO Melissa Argent, the sale is not an exit but a pivot.

“We created something that many others wanted,” she told SATURDAY. “This deal allows us to recycle capital into our next stage – continuing to build stunning, state-of-the-art homes when the industry needs them most.”
