Respect’s growth engine: one operator sale enquiry a week, 39 homes and counting

Without ever approaching a provider, Respect has built a regional aged care empire by acquisition. CEO and Managing Director Jason Binder says the sector’s consolidation is coming to them – and profit, culture and scale are the keys to making it work.

When Jason Binder (pictured top) says Respect doesn’t go looking for acquisitions, he means it. The regional aged care provider has never once approached another operator to sell – yet it has grown from three homes to 39 in just over a decade.

“We get contacted almost weekly,” Jason told SATURDAY. “It looks like we’re charging around building an empire, but the truth is we’re not circling like sharks. Boards come to us when they’re ready.”
