The regional aged care operator paying $25K above the average for staff

Not For Profit Warrigal is now seeing thousands more visits to its careers website every month – but the challenge of finding enough nurses, particularly in regional areas, continues to plague operators and their bottom lines.

Aged care providers are reporting an increased number of job applications, but the lack of Registered Nurses (RNs) remains a pain point for operators, especially those outside of the major cities.

Operators say the latest wage increases for aged care staff and nurses and a shift in public perception have made the sector more attractive to prospective staff.

Case in point: Illawarra-based Not For Profit Warrigal saw visits to its careers page (pictured below) top 18,000 last month, up from 6,000.
