Seniors advocacy body Council of the Ageing has announced the previous Head of the Department of Health and Ageing, as well as Deputy Sec of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and boss of the Finance Department, Jane Halton, will be COTA’s Chair for three years starting next month.
She retired from Finance last year after 33 years in the Federal public service.
She is also on the board of ANZ, the Australian Policy Institute and the law firm Clayton Utz.
She says: "I look forward to supporting COTA's work in speaking forcefully for consumer interests, particularly in priority areas such as aged care, retirement incomes, health policy and housing over the next three years."
