In a panel discussion at the 2025 LEADERS SUMMIT, the former Chair of ASX-listed Ingenia Communities, who last year was inducted into the Property Council of Australia’s Property Hall of Fame, listed the filters he uses when considering the acquisition of an older retirement village.

The panel, which also included Mark Fay, CEO of new village operator IPLiving, Jolyon Good OAM, CEO of retirement village builder Good Constructions, and Hugo Dudley-Smith, Managing Director at advisory firm Gresham Partners, examined the options for retirement living growth, whether through acquisition or capital investment.

To learn Jim's four criteria for acquisitions, watch the full video available now on the DCM website – see link below.

The panel was one of more than two dozen sessions held at 2025 LEADERS SUMMIT, DCM Group’s flagship strategy and networking event, which focused on the strategic challenges and opportunities facing aged care and retirement living operators today.

DCM Group has made nearly all the videos from the SUMMIT available on The Weekly SOURCE website to support the industry with ongoing leadership and strategy development.
