The Federal Government spent $18.1 billion on aged care services for more than 1.3 million older Australians last financial year, according to the 2017-18 Report on the Operation of the Aged Care Act.
The number of people taking up home care packages is also up 29%, though the waiting list has now stretched to over 126,000 people.
The Government has promised an additional $5 billion boost to aged care funding over the next four years – will it be enough to keep up with demand?
