Levande has broken ground on the next stage of its investment program, with CEO Kevin McCoy turning the sod on a new clubhouse at Somerton Park in Adelaide’s southern bayside suburbs.

The event follows the start of construction on 34 new villas already underway at Levande Somerton Park, representing a significant investment in the expansion of the Somerton Park community.

“Turning the first sod is a symbolic moment, but it represents something very real – the point where planning becomes reality,” Kevin said.
“At Somerton Park, this project is about strengthening the heart of an already thriving coastal community. Alongside the new villas now taking shape, the clubhouse will provide a place that brings people together and supports connection, activity and everyday enjoyment.”

The project will also contribute to broader housing availability by delivering new, purpose-built homes for older people within an established community, Levande said in a statement.

The Somerton Park development forms part of Levande’s broader national program of investment in new and upgraded retirement villages.

Construction is expected to continue throughout 2026.
