Lincoln Place marked the start of construction on Friday (6 February), with Mayor Irene Grant joining Executive General Manager of Development Angus Johnson for a sod-turning ceremony at the 16.3-hectare site.

Angus said the $120 million land lease community, known as Lincoln Lifestyle Wangaratta, will deliver 227 new two- and three-bedroom single storey homes and a multi-million investment in sport and recreation amenities.

“Following the commencement of works, we expect to welcome our first residents in mid 2027,” said Angus, adding the milestone marked the beginning of a six-year staged development for the site.
“In future stages we will also deliver a multi-million dollar clubhouse for residents, with extensive recreation and wellness facilities to enhance the lifestyle on offer here.”

The facilities include a wellness centre, heated pool, private theatrette, lawn bowls green and pickleball courts, and more spaces for residents to connect and relax, oriented to take in views of the Warby Ranges.

“They will be centred around a magnificent gum tree being retained on-site, providing shade and acting as a true natural heart of the community,” Angus stated. “The landscaped grounds will be complemented by BBQ areas, pocket parks, a community garden and open green spaces where residents can embrace regional Victoria’s beautiful natural environment.”

Lincoln Lifestyle Wangaratta is a 2.5-hour drive from Melbourne, and located close to health services, retail and dining options.

An information session will be held on Wednesday, 18 February at Quality Hotel Gateway Wangaratta, with more than 130 people already registered.

Lincoln Place, which in October last year stated it had hit over $44 million in development acquisitions in the previous nine months, currently operates 26 communities across their portfolio, totalling 6,000 sites.

Of these, 1,900 sites have been delivered and the balance of 4,100 sites will be completed over the next five years.
