Lincoln Place moves to make its land lease communities child-friendly

The rapidly growing land lease community operator has included its first children’s playground in its proposed new development in Mackay, North Queensland.
Plans for the group’s second lifestyle estate on the Capricornia Coast, a 325-home community, were lodged with Mackay Regional Council for an elevated 16.54ha site in Walkerston.
The playground and a dog park will form part of a multi-million dollar 8,800sqm clubhouse precinct.
“The amenities in the proposed Walkerston estate represent one of the largest indoor-outdoor clubhouse precincts and wellness centres we’ve created, featuring pickleball and bocce courts, a bowling green, and lagoon pool with an outdoor bar and kitchen, BBQ areas and open spaces,” Lincoln Place CEO Paul Yeo (pictured below) said.
“Inside, the 1,950sqm clubhouse and wellness centre features an additional lap pool, gym, yoga studio, as well as an art studio, private 26-seat cinema, golf simulator, games room, lounge and library, and large dining spaces, kitchen and private dining room for events.
“The inclusion of a children’s playground is a first for Lincoln Place and reflects the family-focused approach to community design we are instilling in our estates.”
The masterplan also includes a 2,400sqm community garden area, extensive pedestrian networks and RV and boat storage.
A range of low maintenance two and three-bedroom homes will be available, some with specialised RV parking.
The proposed lifestyle community adjoins an established residential neighbourhood and is located 14km southwest of Mackay’s CBD.
Pending planning approval, construction is expected to commence in the next 12 months with the first residents due to move into their new homes in 2027.
