The Mayor of Mexico City and a number of anonymous benefactors have funded the establishment and ongoing running costs of a retirement village dedicated to ageing prostitutes. Housing just 30 women, it doesnt touch the demand of the 3,000 prostitutes that trade in the city but it is seen as a small move to overcome the plight of destitute women in a conservative and religious country.
