Heike and Michael Duggin have made the 1,000-kilometre move from Townsville to Hervey Bay – and into the record books as the first residents of AVID Property Group’s new land lease community, Vantage Hervey Bay in Kawangan. A further 40 residents are expected to move in later this year.
Vantage Hervey Bay is the first newly built community in AVID Property Group’s land lease portfolio since the developer’s May 2024 entry into the sector, when it paid $284.5 million to acquire eight Living Gems communities.
After completing the Living Gems acquisition, the Vantage business has 14 land lease communities across 3,800 sites comprising 1,800 operational sites and 2,000 development sites: Bloomdale in Diggers Rest, 28km northwest of Melbourne; Harmony in Palmview, Sunshine Coast, 108km north of Brisbane; and in Hervey Bay, on the Fraser Coast, 290km north of Brisbane, are new communities.
Homes at Vantage Hervey Bay are designed and constructed by AVID’s award-winning building arm, Villaworld Homes by AVID, with prices from $550,000 to $900,000 and lots ranging from 250m² to 475m².
“My husband is in the early stages of retirement, and I work in travel, so we wanted a home where we could just lock up and leave when we want to go on holidays, while knowing our home will be safe and all the maintenance will be taken care of for us while we’re away,” Heike said.
“We’re really excited for the Clubhouse resort facilities too… they’ll give us so much variety when it comes to keeping entertained and active.”
A $16.5 million Clubhouse and lifestyle precinct – being delivered by Hutchinson Builders – is now under construction, bringing resort-style amenities to the community as AVID scales its land lease footprint in Queensland.
